Unlock the full potential of your Android phone with the vast array of apps available on the Google Play Store. With over 2 million apps to choose from, you can easily enhance your device’s functionality. However, encountering issues like the Play Store being stuck at downloading and installing can be frustrating. This comprehensive guide will explore solutions to address this common problem. Whether you’re facing slow internet connections or issues with Google Play Store servers, we’ll provide troubleshooting steps to help you get back to downloading your favourite apps seamlessly.
Exactly how to take care of When Google Play Store is Stuck at Downloading:
Let’s dive into a common frustration: encountering issues while downloading an app on your Android phone. Despite the Play Store indicating that the app is downloading and displaying a progress bar, the download fails to initiate. This problem persists even with robust internet connections like 4G, LTE, 5G, or Wi-Fi, indicating that the issue may not solely stem from slow links such as 2G/EDGE. Furthermore, disruptions might arise from glitches within the Google Play Store servers or the specific applications themselves.
The following guide is a self-implemented working solution. The overview is relatively simple to follow. Feel free to ask if you have any problems or questions concerning any action.
Now, to address this problem, follow the steps listed here:
- First, in your App Gallery, locate and tap “Settings.”
- Next, select “Applications” and then tap “Manage Applications.”
- Now, go to “All.”
- Your phone will display a list of all applications. For example, “YouTube,” etc.
- Find and select Google Play Store.
- A new window will open where you will see many options. Find “Force Close” and tap on it. This will close the application if it is running in the background.
- Now, tap on “Clear Cache. “ Then tap on “Clear Data.”
- Now select “Uninstall Updates.” If an update was installed, then this will uninstall all those updates.
- Now, go to the Google Play Store and search for your desired app.
- Download an app or game and enjoy.
Update: If you are trying to download and install any application from the Google Play Store, however, it is stuck as well as the above approach didn’t work for you, then try the method below:
- Go to Application Manager.
- Click on the Reset All Preferences tab.
- A bunch of apps will open again. Now, go back to the Google Play Store. You will notice that the download will start again.
Also, try this solution: Sign out of your Gmail account on the Google Play Store and then Sign in again.
- If you are trying to download via Data Roaming, it will not work. This is a known Google issue.
- If you have these three apps installed: Truecaller, AVG Antivirus, and PayTm, please try to force stop or uninstall them before downloading any other app from the Play Store.
Remember: If you are still dealing with the same problem, you can follow some additional steps. For that, follow the link given listed below.

This works!! Along with this also clear applications cache from settings.
Tried all these and didnt work. But then went into aplications manager..all..then found the tab that said reset all preferences..bunch of apps repopped up on my phone and went to playstore and it worked right away. Even the pending apk downloads started right away
Thank you for your suggestion. I will include this in the post.
I Hate You!! I Kept Stone On My Heart And Did A Factory Reset And It Didn’t Work:-(! What To Do Now??!!
I am really sorry that you had to perform factory reset. but trust me if this you are not able to download even after the factory reset. It is 100% server issue in your area. There cant be any problem in your phone after factory reset. The software has no glitch or malware after you reset your phone.
As I said before, there are times when the issue is in server in some countries.
Thank u ! The first method solved the problem
Thanks it worked…. After 2nd method my app are getting updated.
Hi,
I solved my problem by uninstalling Launcher.
If you have multiple launchers installed then Playstore does not work as expected.
Thanks worked fine

I have done everything to download whatsapp on my phone. I have formatted my phone, resettled my google account. I have cleaned the cache and data of play store but still it is not downloading the app but every time shows that it is downloading the app but in reality it does not. Can you please suggest some more ways for this problem
I used reset method and it worked
Thanks a world!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I was having this problem and I didn’t want to uninstall the updates, so I just hit the “Force Stop” button and then restarted the Google Play Services and then my updates were all installed successfully then. Thus, I would recommend doing this before hitting the Uninstall Updates!
I had faced this problem many times but this “force close” trick solved my problem.
Finally! I had to “Reset all app preferences” o/
Ten only thing, that worked for me, is to disable and force close the google app.
i have tried every thing but nothing is working!!!!!
If you have tried everything, still its not working then may be it is the server isssue.
For me, what worked was switching to a different WiFi. Apparently this update was using something that my normal WiFi did not like. Not sure what. Perhaps a different port. Perhaps bad SSL. Not sure. But I switched to a WiFi that was more open, and it immediately worked.
Yes, most of the time it is server issues in some countries that’s why google updates and apps don’t download and google play store is stuck at downloading.
Uninstalling GooglePlay updates is the only thing that works and then only until it has auto-re-installed them
Truecaller was the problem on my phone!
It has proven to be the main culprit in a number of cases. I am glad it worked for you.
Eu segui todos os passos aplicação esta instalada mas nao abre sempre que carrego no icone ele abre e fecha instatanio, voce pode ajudar?
