Clear Cache:
Clearing the cache is the first, most credible, and most efficient method to fix Note 20 ultra overheating.
Clearing your phone’s cache can be helpful to get back the actual performance of your phone. However, the old cache lying around the phone can be corrupted and result in the bizarre behavior of your phone. This also includes intensive memory and processor use leading to the heating of Note 20.
Note that clearing the cache won’t delete any data on your phone; it’s just deleting temporarily stored files on your phone.
By following the steps below, you can clear the cache of your Note 20:
The first method is via settings:
- Go to the Settings menu of your phone.
- Now locate “Battery and device care.”
- Tap Optimize now.
Another way to clear the cache of Note 20 is via the Recovery menu:
- First of all, turn off your Note 20 Ultra.
- Once it’s off, press and hold the Volume Up and Side keys simultaneously.
- As you see the Samsung logo, release the Side key while holding the Volume Up button.
- Now on the screen, you will seed the Recovery screen and release Volume Up.
- An ‘Installing system update message may show for a minute or seconds before the Android recovery menu options appear.
- Use volume keys to navigate to wipe the cache partition.
- Use the Power button to make the selection.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, use the Reboot system now option to restart the device.
Background Apps:
You can check the background apps opened on your device. Because even though you can not see them, they are still being used, and hence they are drawing processing power. This does not mean that you can not run background apps. Moreover, it is a warning to use fewer background apps.
Change/ take off phone case:
Depending on the material and build, a phone case could be one of the reasons for high temperatures. You can try removing the case and checking the temperature, and if that works, you can try replacing the case with a more viable option.
Less intensive settings:
The Note 20/20 Ultra is cram-packed with top-of-the-line features, although they are excellent and convenient. However, most of them require a lot of power, i.e., you can try changing your screen to 60hz and lowering the resolution. Along with that, you can change the recording resolution. Although it will slightly ruin the user experience, it will hopefully make your phone run at the average temperature.
Software-update:
There is a slight chance that this may be a bug in the phone’s software or by using old versions. However, you can try to update your phone’s software, as an update may fix the bug in the new patch. And because running a more recent software is better overall.
Factory Reset Note 20:
Most people tend to change their settings now and then. However, sometimes changing the wrong settings can affect your phone badly. This is because most settings consume your CPU load in one way or another, and this causes your phone to heat up. Suppose nothing is working to solve the issue. The only option left is to factory reset your Note 20. A downside is that a Factory reset will erase all the stored data in your phone.
