Recently, I encountered an issue with my Pixel 6 that would vibrate randomly when I would pick it up or unlock it. This vibration is something not defined in the settings of the phone but starts randomly, and there is no clue why it’s happening or how to get rid of it. Initially, I thought I somehow activated this vibration from the settings as the phone would vibrate when you pick it up and unlock it. However, after researching how to fix these random vibrations, I found a solution that helped me get rid of them.
Google Pixel Random Vibrations Fix:
After some brainstorming, I realized that this issue started after I recently installed some apps. A way to check if an app is causing the problem is to diagnose it in safe mode. So, I put my Pixel 6 into safe mode and realized the random vibrations were gone.
In this guide, I will elaborate on how you can detect the culprit app in safe mode and remove it.
First of all, you need to get into the safe mode of Pixel 6:
- Then, while your pixel phone is turned on, press the Power and Volume up buttons.
- You will see different options on your screen, such as “Power Off,” “Restart,” and “Emergency.”
- Tap and hold on to the Power off icon. You will see a warning on your screen about safe mode, like in the screenshot attached.
- Click on OK.
- Now, your phone will reboot and restart into Safe mode.
Suppose you are using Pixel 5 or earlier versions to get into Safe mode. First, you need to press and hold the power button. When you see “Power Off,” “Restart,” and “Emergency,” Press and hold the Power Off icon.
While you are in safe mode, you need to check if your Google Pixel Vibrates Randomly or if the abnormal behaviour is gone. In Safe mode, only built-in apps essential for your phone’s proper functioning are working. If your phone is behaving correctly in Safe mode, then the diagnosis is that some app you recently installed is causing the issue on your Pixel.
If your phone vibrates even in Safe Mode, there is potentially some software issue. To fix this, you would need to factory reset your Pixel phone. You can do this by first backing up your phone in Settings and then doing a Factory Reset from Settings -> System -> Reset Options.
Now get back to normal mode by pressing the volume up and power buttons and restarting your phone.
