These smartphones marked their place in the smartphone market with many unique features and attractive specs. However, even with fine hardware and software, there is a problem with OnePlus devices, a bricked OnePlus. 2 days back, I explained how to fix the OnePlus Soft brick with recovery. Today, I’ll explain how you can improve your OnePlus Soft brick without recovery.
If you have a bricked OnePlus, you should know which brick it is. For example, is it soft brick or hard brick?
Soft-Brick: Your smartphone may get stuck at the boot screen when rebooting. It may also show a blank screen after the boot screen. You can access recovery or fastboot when your device is in this state.
Hard-Brick: Your OnePlus smartphone may get stuck at the OnePlus logo when rebooting. It may also show a blank screen. You cannot access recovery or fastboot when your device is in this state.
Now, when you have diagnosed which type of brick it is, you may start following the guide. You can fix your OnePlus soft brick without recovery.
Fix OnePlus Soft brick without recovery
- First, connect your smartphone to your PC via a data cable.
- Now, boot your smartphone into fastboot mode. For this, press and hold the “Power + Volume Up” buttons until your smartphone show some recognition of being in a fastboot way. Make sure that your PC recognizes it. If it does not remember, follow steps 8 – 12 from “OnePlus Soft brick with recovery.”
- If you have an unlocked bootloader, skip the next step and continue from step 5.
- If you don’t have an unlocked bootloader, then open Command Prompt Window and enter the code written in inverted commas:
“cd [*Enter the place where you put downloaded folder*]/android-SDK-windows/platform-tools.”

If you haven’t made any mistake, you will see a device serial number in the command prompt. The following command you will enter will wipe all of your data and the apps.
“fastboot OEM unlock” - Now reboot your device again into fastboot mode by holding the “Power + Volume Up” buttons. After this, your smartphone is ready to install a custom recovery.
- Now choose a custom recovery image and download it. Place the downloaded image file in your “platform-tools” folder. I’ll recommend you download TWRP.
- Open Command Prompt Window again and enter.
“cd [*Enter the place where you put downloaded folder*]/android-SDK-windows/platform-tools.”
“fastboot flash recovery [*Enter the Recovery image name here*].img.”
The above commands will flash your recovery image. After this, press and hold “Volume Down” and enter.
“fastboot reboot.” - Now, you’ll reboot into custom recovery.
- Follow steps 13 and onward from “OnePlus Soft brick with recovery.”
