Huawei has announced that it will be rolling out official Nougat update for Honor 6X this month. Recently, Huawei has started beta testing phase for Android Nougat on Honor 6X. It allows you to download and install Android Nougat on Honor 6X and report for the bugs or features you want in the official build. The great news is everyone with Honor 6X will be getting Android Nougat in the form of EMUI 5 on their phones.
Huawei Honor 6X comes with a full HD 5.5-inch screen and it is powered by Kirin 655 processor. The processing is supported by 3GB of RAM. Internal storage is of 32 GB but you can add more with MicroSD card. There are two cameras on the back of the phone. The best thing about Honor 6X is its battery and price. It is equipped with 3440 mAh battery. Which gives great timing. You can get an unbranded Huawei Honor 6X at around $250.
How to Install Android Nougat on Honor 6X:
Android Nougat is the latest firmware of Google. Only 1% of Android devices are currently running on it. Gradually manufacturers are customising the latest Nougat firmware according to their device hardware and user interface. The latest device which is going to receive official Android nougat is Honor 6X.
Whereas, you can still use Android Nougat beta version on your Huawei Honor 6x. In order to install Android Nougat on Honor 6X. You will have to register as a developer with Huawei and send your IMEI to the email address below. Registering as a developer sounds bit fancy but it is nothing to worry about. You will get Android Nougat on your Honor 6X via OTA update. You will get to install it and test it on your phone. If you ever come across a bug while using it. Just report it to Huawei and they will take care of it. that’s all you have to do.
Install Android Nougat on Honor 6X:
- Just go to Settings of your phone.
- Select About Phone and tap on Status.
- You will get to see your IMEI number. Press and hold to copy it.
- You can also find the IMEI number on the box of your phone. If you still can’t find it then dial *#06# on your dialer. It will show up your IMEI number.
- Once you have got IMEI number of your phone send it to huaweifut@huawei[dot]com.
If you are selected for the Huawei Beta testing program for Android Nougat 7 for Honor 6X. Then you will get a confirmation email.
- Lastly, you will get the update and then you can finally install Android Nougat on Honor 6X.
Note: If your phone is rooted or running on custom ROM you won’t be eligible to apply for the beta testing program. It means you will not Android Nougat ever. Even after the official build is released. Unless you unroot your Honor 6X and flash stock firmware on it.Â
