Guide to install stock firmware on Galaxy A52 via ODIN

Samsung recently released the Galaxy A52. It is one of Samsung’s middle-tier smartphones. Yet, it comes with top-notch specs and the latest Android operating system. Android, known for its flexibility in interface customization and underlying features, can sometimes lead to situations where you must install stock firmware. The situations include bootloop ( The phone being stuck at the Samsung logo at startup), unrooting the phone, or moving back to stock firmware from a custom firmware. In this guide, we will deal with all the possible methods that you can use to install stock firmware on Galaxy A52. This method works for both the 5G model of A52 and the orthodox model.

Two methods can be used to flash stock firmware on Galaxy A52. The first method is via Samsung Smartswitch. Meanwhile, we are going to use ODIN for the second method. Both tools are official Samsung tools for flashing firmware, among other things, like operating system or software recovery, repartition, rooting, and installing custom firmware.

Install stock firmware on Galaxy A52 via Smartswitch:

Smartswitch can be used for multiple purposes. You can create a backup of your phone on your PC. Restore it later on. If your phone is soft-bricked or stuck in a bootloop, you can use smartswitch to flash stock firmware on Galaxy A52 to unbrick it or unroot it. It is very user-friendly. Even people with no technical expertise can use this tool to fix their Samsung phones. All you need to do is install the smartswitch on your Windows PC or Macbook and follow the on-screen information, as the other method isn’t for computers running on macOS. So, if you have a MacBook, this solution is your only rescue option.

In the guide below, we will be using smartswitch to flash stock firmware on Galaxy A52:
  • First of all, you need to download and install Smartswitch on your Macbook or Windows PC.
  • Once installed, connect your Galaxy A52 to your PC via a data cable.
  • Open smartswitch. Once your phone is detected, the tool will display all the information about your phone on the screen.
  • In the top right corner of the taskbar, you will see “More.” Click on it and select “Emergency Software Recovery.”
  • Allow Smartswitch to find suitable firmware for your Galaxy A52. From the list of options, select any suitable firmware. The latest firmware is usually the best choice.
  • Select the firmware; now, the smartswitch will download the firmware.
  • You need to follow the on-screen information to install it on Galaxy A52.

Your phone should always be connected to your PC while the process is running.

Note: Smartswitch might ask for a recovery phone. Suppose your phone is stuck at bootloop or unresponsive. You might not be able to get the recovery code in such circumstances. You can use the “Device Initialization Mode.” For that, you will need your phone model and serial number. You can find this information on the box on your phone.

Install Stock firmware on Galaxy A52 via ODIN:

If your phone is unresponsive or wants more control while flashing firmware. ODIN is a better choice. ODIN allows a Samsung user to perform multiple operations on a Samsung phone. Using ODIN, you can repartition your phone and install a custom recovery or a custom ROM. You can also fix your phone if it’s soft-bricked or hard-bricked. The only downside is that ODIN is a bit technical. Once you are familiar with the tool, it is handy.

Prerequisites:

  • Make sure your phone is charged before starting the process.
  • Download and install Samsung Drivers for Windows on your PC.
  • Download ODIN 3.14.4
  • You will have to download the appropriate firmware for Galaxy A52. You can download it from Sammobile or any other website that has Samsung smartphone firmware. Once the firmware is downloaded, extract it on your PC, where the files are easily accessible.
  • Make sure you download the appropriate firmware for your phone. You can install firmware from any country on your phone as long as the firmware and the phone are not branded. If your phone is of some brand and it’s locked to that brand, then find and install the firmware of that brand, e.g., T-Mobile, Vodaphone, etc.

Once all prerequisites are complete, move on to the guide:

  1. First of all, you need to turn off your Galaxy A52 and put it in download mode.
  2. Once the phone is off, press and hold the volume down and power buttons. While holding the buttons, connect the phone to the PC via a USB type C data cable.
  3. Once the phone boots up, press the volume up button to go to download mode.
  4. Now that you are in Download mode. Open ODIN on your PC. As your phone is detected. You will see “Added” in the ODIN logs. The ID: COM on ODIN will change to blue. (If the colour didn’t change, then the PC has failed to recognize your phone. Furthermore, make sure you have installed the right drivers and that the drivers were installed successfully. Sometimes, the fault lies in the USB cable)
  5. In ODIN, you will see several tabs and have to select files for each tab. Click on CP and locate and select the CP file from the extracted firmware. In the same vein, click on AP and select the file with AP in the name. Similarly, add the BL file to the BL tab.
