Recently, I encountered an issue with my Pixel 6 that caused it to vibrate randomly when I picked it up or unlocked it. This vibration is not defined in the phone’s settings, but it starts randomly, and there is no clue why it’s happening or how to get rid of it. Initially, I thought I had somehow activated this vibration from the settings, as the phone would vibrate when picked up and unlocked. However, after researching how to fix these random vibrations, I found a solution that helped me get rid of them.
Google Pixel Random Vibrations Fix:
After some brainstorming, I realized that this issue started after I recently installed some apps. A way to check if an app is causing the problem is to diagnose it in safe mode. So, I put my Pixel 6 into safe mode and realized that the random vibrations had stopped.
In this guide, I will explain how to identify the culprit app in safe mode and remove it.
First of all, you need to get into the safe mode of Pixel 6:
- Then, while your Pixel phone is turned on, press the Power and Volume up buttons.
- You will see various options on your screen, including “Power Off,” “Restart,” and “Emergency.”
- Tap and hold on to the Power off icon. You will see a warning on your screen about safe mode, as shown in the attached screenshot.
- Click on OK.
- Now, your phone will reboot and restart into Safe mode.
If you are using a Pixel 6 or earlier version, to enter Safe mode. First, press and hold the power button. When you see “Power Off,” “Restart,” and “Emergency,” Press and hold the Power Off icon.
While you are in safe mode, check if your Google Pixel Vibrates Randomly or if the abnormal behavior is gone. In Safe mode, only built-in apps essential for your phone’s proper functioning are working. If your phone behaves correctly in Safe mode, then the diagnosis is that a recently installed app is causing the issue on your Pixel.
If your phone vibrates even in Safe Mode, there is potentially some software issue. To resolve this issue, you will need to perform a factory reset on your Pixel phone. You can do this by first backing up your phone in Settings and then doing a Factory Reset from Settings -> System -> Reset Options.
Now return to normal mode by pressing the volume up and power buttons, then restart your phone.
