PTA Temporary Mobile Registration System

When visiting Pakistan, Overseas Pakistanis and foreigners can temporarily unblock their mobile phones through the recently launched PTA Temporary Mobile Registration System. This article provides easy steps to allow individuals to unblock their devices during their stay in Pakistan for 120 days without paying the PTA Tax.

The national telecom regulator, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority(PTA), recently launched a mobile registration system for overseas Pakistanis and foreigners staying in Pakistan for a limited time. As per the new system, any individual can operate their device for up to 120 days, starting from the day of arrival. This was otherwise impossible because of the PTA Tax regulation on imported devices. This privilege provides top-notch connectivity for overseas Pakistanis, foreign nationals, and tourists during their stay.

Another advantage of this temporary registration system is that there is no limit to the number of times you can use the PTA Temporary Mobile Registration System. It will work for the same device if you leave the country and revisit Pakistan after some time. However, it is essential to know that this temporary registration system is only valid for 120 days. If you stay in Pakistan longer, your local network will be suspended. You won’t be able to make calls or use mobile data.
