This year, All the news and rumors coming out regarding Google and its smartphones are a bit complicated. With Android N and September approaching, everyone is talking about Nexus these days. Sometimes we hear how there will be two Nexus smartphones, and HTC is manufacturing both of them. Sometimes we hear general manger of consumer business group of Huawei saying “We are doing Nexus this year as well“. And few days back, we heard how Google will be developing hardware of smartphones it self along with software to stand next to Apple. Well I think, Google is doing much better than iOS and it should stick to Android and let other manufacturers handle the hardware and Google should focus on software.
Just today, we heard AndroidPolice saying how they have got information from very reliable source about the HTC Nexus Marlin alleged specs and features, while they emphasized on anonymity of source and how they accessed the information of upcoming HTC nexus phone. Yet they were very confident about accuracy and reliability of this report on alleged specs and features.
HTC Nexus Marlin Alleged Specs and Features
HTC Nexus Marlin is said to be the larger phone among the two expected models of Nexus phones namely, Sailfish and Marlin. Well Marlin is said to be successor of Huawei Nexus 6P. and its screen size is said to be of 5.5″ slightly smaller than its successor Nexus 6P, whose screen size is of 5.7″. The name of processor is not yet revealed by the source of this intel, but it can be Snapdragon 820, 821 or 823. Now lets move on to the rest of specs of HTC Nexus Marlin.
- It is said to be manufactured by HTC.
- 5.5″ QHD (2560×1440) AMOLED display
- USB-C port
- 12MP rear camera, 8MP front
- Rear-mounted fingerprint scanner
- 4GB RAM
- 3450mAh battery
- Bottom-firing speakers
- 32/128GB of storage
- Bluetooth 4.2
At this time, we also believe we can confidently revise our Sailfish specifications to state that it also has an AMOLED display panel (though at 1080p resolution).
You might have noticed how both Sailfish and Marlin will likely have same processor, camera and RAM. Looks like Nexus is more into developing versions like iPhone and iPhone plus. Same specs, just different in the size. I am not sure how they will price the two versions this time, as both have same specs and only difference is size.
