  4. Press “Menu” > “Sync now.”

Restore from a Google Account:

Register the Google account and allow it to sync contacts with your phone. It will sync all the references to a registered Google account.

Galaxy S6 Backup Media Files on Windows Computer:

  1. First, connect the Samsung Galaxy S6 to your computer via USB.
  2. Now, swipe the “Status” bar down and then tap “Connected as a media device” > “Media device (MTP)“.
  3. When the AutoPlay window appears on the computer, click “Open device to view files“.
  4. Now, select the files you wish to back up on your computer.
  5. Copy the selected files and paste them in the desired location.
  6. Finally, safely disconnect your smartphone when the transfer is done.

Restore from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Smartphone to your PC.
  2. If necessary, enable “Media device (MTP)“.
  3. When the AutoPlay window appears on your PC, click “Open device to view files“.
  4. Open another Windows Explorer window and locate the path where you pasted files on your computer.
  5. Select the files you want to restore.
  6. Copy and transfer the selected files to your phone (SD card or internal memory).
  7. Safely disconnect your smartphone when the transfer is done.

Galaxy S6 Back Up on a Mac Computer:

Follow these three steps to install Samsung Kies on your Mac computer. If it is already installed on your Mac, then skip these steps.

  1. Navigate to Kies
  2. Click “Download for Mac OS.
  3. Follow the instructions to install Kies on the Mac

After downloading and installing Samsung Kies, follow these steps to backup media files on a Mac.

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy S6 to your Mac computer via USB
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down and tap “Connected as a media device” > “Media device (MTP)
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac
  4. Click the “Back up / restore tab” in Kies
  5. Click the “Backup” tab and mark all the checkboxes following the media files you want to back up.
  6. When you are done, click “Backup.
  7. Safely disconnect your smartphone when the process is complete.

Restore from a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy S6 to your Mac computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media Device (MTP)” from the status area
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac
  4. Click the “Back up / restore” tab in Kies
  5. Open the “Restore” tab and mark all the checkboxes following the media files you want to restore
  6. Click “Restore.
  7. Safely disconnect your smartphone when the process is complete.
